Keeping it Holy

Last night was the greatest night this area has seen in over a decade. That might sound like an exaggeration, but I assure you it is not. So many people live and die by the Packers that it really is a religion.

We have tried to stay out of Packer mania, but for the last two weeks, it has been impossible. Super Bowl Fever is as contagious as swine flu.

Yesterday, everything in town completely shut down. Stores closed. Even the ones that don't shut down on Christmas locked their doors to observe Super Bowl Sunday. It was fantastic!

This was the editorial cartoon from our local paper. It pretty much sums up exactly why we will never be "true" Packer fans. If you can't read the tiny print, click on the picture to blow it up to full screen. As funny as these things are meant to be, they are ALL true. Especially the one about the grandchild on the season ticket waiting list and the whole house decorated in green and gold.

Go, Pack, Go!

I can totally attest to the truthfulness! Gotta love Packermania--it certainly is unique! We've even got a piece of Frozen Tundra in our freezer. One day Barry wants to plant it in the lawn with a little fence around it. Needless to say, we were pretty stoked last night!

Oh my funny! Makes me want to tell you to watch the American Idol episode this season where one of the girls trying out was a total DIE HARD Pack fan! IT WAS NUTS! Tom and I were laughing so hard! ...and then decided to stop totally brainwashing our girls to be Ute fans and just lay low for a while...maybe sign them up for another dance class and buy them something pink and flowery! LOL

Hilarious! It really is a culture there. We were cheering on your Packers on Sunday too, minus foam cheese hat.
