What Happened??

So here I was, happily blogging about every day of spring break, and just like that, I quit.

Here's what happened.

Lizzie had her state gymnastics competition down by Milwaukee. We got a hotel room in a hotel with a giant indoor water park. We had so much fun watching her and playing in the water. So much fun, in fact, that we didn't take a single picture.

Our hotel room had a huge tub with its own TV, and that is where the girls loved to hang out. Sheesh - you'd think they'd never seen a TV in a bathroom before.
Shortly after returning home, Lizzie got terribly sick. I took her in for a strep test, but it came back negative. Later that week, Anna had to come home from school early with an ear infection. Fortunately, her antibiotic began just as Lucy's ended. I did NOT want to have two kids taking medicine at the same time...

Three days later, Lizzie was on the couch again, unable to move because she was so sick. This time, the strep came back overwhelmingly positive. Two kids on antibiotics. Rats!

Fast forward another two days: we were at lunch with friends when Daisy complained of ear pain. An hour later she was screaming and holding her head. I took her in and she had a raging ear infection... and strep. Lucy was tested, and she, too, was positive for strep.

Here is what our mornings looked like last week:
In the middle of all that, we had a dance recital on Saturday.

Is four hours typical for a dance recital? By the end, I wanted to tear my hair out a little. Lucy found some solace in working the video camera.
It was a really nice way to finish out the year of dance. Daisy and Lizzie really liked dancing, Anna not so much. But she is also the kid who, in the middle of a soccer game, quit playing and walked over to me and said, "You mean that all you do is run and kick?" She hasn't reduced dance down that much yet, but it wasn't her thing this year.

Excellent post Amy, between this and the clips from the White House Correspondents Dinner, it's been a superbly humor-filled day! By the way, is it possible to tear your hair out a little? It seems to me that that's sort of an all or nothing thing.

We've had twinner weeks! Our counter has been full of "pink stuff and z-packs!" If only I could find a way to NOT have to pay a co-pay every three days...
