My Newest Job

Sunday was my first week teaching the Sunbeam class in Primary. The class consists of three children, Anna included. I am super excited and worked hard to prepare my first lesson. During Sharing Time, before class, Anna leaned over to me and said, pointing to her friends, "Mom, us three, we really like Play-Doh. Did you bring some?" I looked at her, resisting the urge to remind her that, as we live in the same house, she knows we don't currently have any Play-Doh. Instead I replied simply, "No." She then said, "Well, did you bring treats then?" Again, all I could say was No. She looked away, sat back hard in her seat and sighed the way kids do when they are thinking, "My mom is so lame." Oh, great. Aside from our rocky start, I think I have the best calling ever.

I have two words for you in teaching sunbeams - "fruit snacks." They are critical! Princess fruit snacks are even better!
