The Legacy Lives On

Lizzie's great grandmother was a musician, her grammy is a musician and her mother is a musician. All attended the University of Utah and majored in music. Is there any hope for the little girl, or is it already in her blood to tickle the ivories. Well, Lizzie had her first piano recital a few weeks ago. She put on her Sunday best, which wasn't too hard since we had to go to her recital immediately following church, and headed to the local University's music hall.

I am not sure who enjoyed the experience more, Lizzie or Amy. Lizzie was the first student to play during her premiere debut. She played two pieces with her teacher and did a fantastic job. Amy got to relive her childhood and college days by walking the halls of a music building and recognizing almost every recital piece played during the program. I also got to see the joy and sense of accomplishment that Amy felt from watching Lizzie start to follow in her momma's footsteps.

In the end, I got a small glimpse of how much joy Amy's parents must have experienced each time she would perform, especially after pushing her with all those early morning practices.

You can see Lizzie's performance in whole below. Way to go Lizzie, keep up the great work!

Thanks, Kelly, for posting that. It really was a great experience for me to see Lizzie perform so well. And Mom, you're right about having a video camera - we love it!

That is so cool! What a great family tradition. I am sure Amy shed a few tears that day!
