Once there lived in Wisconsin the best dad in the world. But whose dad was he??? My dad of course!!!! He could do a million things in one day. I can only name 2 or 3 things that he did today. Well the first thing that he did today was drive across the United States in 2 hours. [Clearly this is a tall tale - it has many exaggerations] The 2 thing was build a swing set. And the third thing was build a bathroom so fast that I couldn't see what he was doing. But I did notice my room was a different color. So maybe that's four. And I noticed that we had a pond and some fish in it. [That will be the day.] One day he asked me to do something: paint my baby sister's bedroom with him. I said, "OK Dad." So we started painting her bedroom. Lucy slept in my mom and dad's bedroom and he was tired or her screaming. [Actually, quite true.] And our dog kept barking. [Our WHAT?] We painted every inch of that room. Dad put three layers on that room. [Very true] Then mom ran in. "The toilet is flooding." "It looks like the Mississippi River in here," yelled Anna. [This isn't a true event, but could be. She had to use a geographical feature in her story.] He fixed the toilet before the paint dried. After all that work he went to sleep and didn't wake up until two days later. The next day at school someone asked me, "Can your dad fly?" "Yep," I said. The next day we went to the park and I saw the same girl that asked me if my dad could fly. She asked my dad, "Can you fly for us?" He said, "Well.." Then everyone started saying, "Fly for us, fly for us." So he flew for them. It was a success. The family started to be famous and super dad saved a lot of people. [The story takes an odd turn here.] Some said super dad's new job was to save people but no one knows. But whatever his job was we lived happily ever after."
At Anna's conference, her teacher gave us this paper. It was an assignment and she said that she felt horrible asking Anna to redo it but obviously she had to. But she couldn't bring herself to recycle this one. So she gave it to us. We thought it was great. Typical Anna.

Priceless!!! XOXO
I think Anna deserves an A. She'll learn how to "play the game" soon enough. The only thing I saw amiss was an absent apostrophe. Her handwriting is uniform with well shaped letters. She shows creativity and ingenuity and a " get it done" mentality. I hope Anna never loses her joyful expression of writing and may she always read and write between the the lines. with love from one who gets it,Aunt Krispy
Lizzy, your story is based on one wonderful truth: you have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious dad! I know he can help you say that word: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious but you probably know how. Keep writing you're great!!!
What a great story! Very creative, she obviously thinks very highly of her dad, as she should. He's a great guy! And all those smilies in Anna's, I love it!
