Spring Has Arrived

One of the great things about spring when you're a kid is that things end with a bang.

You graduate from kindergarten.

You bring home all those art projects and poetry books you've been working on all year.

And you have recitals. Dance recitals, choir concerts, and... piano recitals.

Lizzie had her final piano recital yesterday. She has had a great year and we are all so glad to see how much she has progressed. Amazingly, she never gets nervous. But I do. It's worse to be the parent than the performer.

Stay tuned for Kelly's work recital highlighting a year of great projects, and my recital culminating a year of housework, dishes, and vacuuming.

It's good to be recognized.

Amy! Wow! Lizzie, you fantastic! And the best part is, she plays so musically. She's a natural. But you can tell she has worked so hard, too!

I love her little crossed legs swinging under the piano. How does she keep her balance? And I guess it will still be a few more years until she can reach those pedals! ;)

There's something very familiar about her fingers and the way they strike the keys--the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Fabulous!!!

XOXO

It's so true! The end of the school year is so full of "celebrations" and recognitions. It would be so great if we could get that too! Lizzie is so talented! You can tell she works hard and learns it well because she is so confident!

I must agree with Mom. There is a certain aggressiveness on the keys that is both appealing and familiar. :) I especially love the cross-over hands. Oh Lizzie, you are growing up!!

Please post a picture of your tally sheet(s) totaling the number of dishes you have washed this year. During Easter I tried to eat one jelly bean for every dish of the year. How did you do?

One giant five-pound bag of Mike & Ike's basically covered the month of April, Kath.
