Yes, I realize that I have four children. I really don't know how we got so many pictures of Lucy to the exclusion of the older three (you know, those other kids who we just call "Lucy's sisters").
Someone must have told the baby that we can't go trick-or-treating until the house is clean. Ha - she falls for it every time...

"It's MY candy, Mine! And don't try to pry it out of my frozen little fist or I'll scream. Neither of us want that now, do we?"

All the neighborhood kids go out together. Our two delightful empty-nest neighbors were absolutely antsy to join the fun. Notice that all the kids but one are just fine with two adults wearing crazy masks jumping in a picture with them. The unicorn is new to the neighborhood and isn't familiar with Bill and Lynn yet. Oh, just wait, little pony. You'll love them, too, soon enough.

Lucy ran as fast as her little shoes would carry her. For a while she was in a wagon, but it was holding her back. When she toddled around she looked a little like a garden gnome. Especially from behind.

"Trick or Treat. You can just put the candy in my floppy little hand."

[
the gloves were completely worthless; they didn't stand a chance against the brisk midwest wind]
Oh, yeah. Here are all the girls. We tried and tried to get a good picture of everyone, but the sugar high had hit and no one held still for longer than a tenth of a second. These might be my favorite costumes we've ever had.

Two words: Red Boots. Mmm-hmm. Boy howdy. Yee-haw. And Daisy had little silver sparkly shoes that were absolute magic. She sleeps with them every night and wears them all day.
Ahh, maternal autumnal success. Smells like cookies and Snickers...

Those are award-winning costumes. Way to go,Mom. A home run! XOXO
Love the costumes. I think people only wear coats as puffy as your white one in places that are too cold for life. And to be wearing it already?? Miss you!
Amy,
I haven't looked at your blog (or anyone elses') for sooo long. It is wonderful to see your beautiful family. I absolutely love the sweater you made and reading about all of your adventures. What a fabulous mom you are. Will we see you in SLC this Christmas? Tell Kelly hello from us.
