Tea Parties and Toenails

Poor Kelly.

Most of the time it is okay to be the only guy in our house, but on days like yesterday, he is all alone.

The girls staged a major tea party in our family room. Dad was in charge and he let them bring REAL crackers and even opened a box of Girl Scout cookies for them. I am aware that it is unnatural to still have GS Cookies, but I was the troop cookie mom and had to buy a few extra boxes and after looking at, smelling, counting, distributing, and talking cookies for the entire month of March, I can barely eat so much as a Thin Mint.

Anyway, back to the tea party. Their dolls were all invited, as were a few of Daisy's animals, most notably her cat, France, perched delicately on the hat box in the picture. France is a very beloved pet and when she rides in our car, Daisy takes great care to strap her into a seat belt in the back before climbing into her own carseat. I need to teach her to say, "Vive la France!"

Kelly turned on football and checked BCS standings online. What's a man to do?And where was Mom during all this revelry?

For Mother's Day, way back in May, Kelly and the girls gave me a mani/pedi that I have not been able to use because I just haven't had time. Finally, yesterday, Kelly set an appointment for me and off I went to sit in the massage chair and have my poor, overworked hands and feet beautified.
My toes are a lovely gingerbread color. Sparkly, of course. I love them and am a little sad that it's November and I don't get to look at them often enough because I can't stand to be without socks. My fingers are simply clear to show solidarity. I never let my girls paint their nails if we will be leaving the house, and fingernails never stay painted for longer than 24 hours if they're a bright color. I just like a natural look.

Of course, I never let them eat crackers in the family room, either.

Vive le Daddy and Vive les Utes!

I love the gingerbread color! You deserve more of those pedicures!
