Grammy in Chicago!

What a fun few days we had with Grammy in Chicago! We walked along Michigan Avenue until we came to the American Girl store, for which the girls were certain was the sole purpose of Grammy's visit. We spent much of the morning there, which sounds like fun...from a distance. It's quite overwhelming to see all that doll equipment and little girls grabbing things. Mom observed that people were going in with huge grins and coming out looking a little dazed and dizzy. Lizzie couldn't believe all the stuff and I think she thought that she wanted everything there. She finally settled on a ball gown for her doll.

We also visited Navy Pier and rode the huge ferris wheel, ate some deep dish stuffed pizza (amazing, by the way), and stopped at the Hard Rock Cafe for a souvenir for David.

The concert was so fun. We set out blankets on the lawn and Mom got to spend some more time with us before her call time. In the picture you can see balloons where people marked their spot. That was the best because we navigated from them. It didn't matter that they floated up high because no one on the lawn had a view of the choir. People brought full meals, tables, and all kinds of creature comforts. Lots of people had candles to repel bugs and during "Come, Come Ye Saints" it reminded me of pioneer campfires. The girls loved hearing the choir and even Daisy was pretty quiet and still.

One of our best adventures yet!

You are the spitting image of your mom! I always thought you looked like your dad, but I can see so much of your beautiful mom in you. What a wonderful picture!
