Yummy

Some women take the greatest pride in a clean house or in their scrapbooks.  I have finally realized that I take the greatest pride in a row of freshly sealed bottles.  This is the epitome of autumn to me.  Never mind that with a baby coming in a matter of days we have no place for her to sleep and no clean clothes to wear.  No, I had 30 pounds of apples to sauce!  I did it without a recipe, just my tastebuds and a wonderful strainer that saved me from having to peel or core each apple.  And I only had to call my mom once with a question.

I will now line them up next to the pears and the salsa and for a few days I will feel like I am on top of everything in my life.  Then I will look around and realize that I have a lot of work to do.  Yikes!  (Focus on the apples, focus on the apples)

You are amazing, Amy! Those bottles look great. I was thinking the other day about some great homemade salsa that I had at your house (or maybe at your mom's house years ago). Someday I'd love to get your canning recipes...of course, then I'd have to learn how to do it!

YUM! There is nothing like homemade food. It is so rare these days and your girls will talk about "Mom's amazing applesauce" when they are old and having their own kids.
