Let it sNOOOOO!

I came out on Saturday morning and started swatting away what I thought was just pollen or dust blowing in the (strong) wind. It took a few seconds before I recognized it for what it really was: Winter. I said a bad word ("stupid") and then found Kelly and Lucy like this:The poor baby loves mowing the lawn in the backpack with Daddy, but she was so cold that she shivered for 10 minutes after I brought her in. She can't understand what has happened to her beloved Outside and cries at the front door now. I would join her, but I'm too calloused. Instead, I walk past her and tell her, "This isn't cold. Just you wait." Then neither of us feel better.

I love these three latest posts! That sweater is absolutely beautiful, and I love the hood too. This is coming from a novice knitter, who can only really do scarves. So I am mightily impressed! The butterfly story is sweet, some days I definitley wish that a butterfly was the extent of our pet experience. And winter has arrived here too, it didn't get above 25 the entire weekend, but we fortunately don't stay stuck in it like you do. Poor Lucy! And poor Amy!

Sweet little Lucy is SO grown up already! That sweater is awesome--knitting and crocheting have both caused me some grief in my life, maybe I'll try again someday! I've heard the the upper midwest might be milder this year; snow sounds so refreshing to me right now, but winter is just a little too long! :/

That sweater is so cute and I love the hood! You are amazing. And I'm jealous of Lizzy being able to have a pet butterfly, even if it was only for a short time. I'm crossing my fingers for you that global warming will really kick in - making this winter a record-setter for being short & mild.

"Calloused?" You're still an English junkie and I love it! I'm impressed that your bad words consist of "stupid." Did I tell you I went to the Chi-O open house at homecoming? They remodeled the main floor and it looks AMAZING. It really is so beautiful. I've always been hesitant to go back to the house because I was such an idiot back then, but going in there brought back some really happy memories of our great friends! Miss you!

I think you dread Winter the way I dreaded Summers in Arizona. I am sorry, because I remember the bitter cold of Winters in the middle of the country. It's a wet-cold that's really like nothing else! Well, we had our first snowstorm of the year last weekend here in Colorado that dumped 3" of "white stuff" (which is how my son lovingly refers to snow) on our lawn and cancelled Saturday's soccer game. My kids think it's the best thing ever, but my guess is that mid-Winter, they may be nostalgic for AZ Winters.

I LOVE that Lucy likes to mow the lawn with Kelly! Does she rake leaves too?
