Spring Break, Day 1

I have a goal of trying to document every day of spring break, but the truth is,
WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR SPRING TO BREAK around here!

This was the view outside our back window yesterday. Nice.Add to that the fact that Lucy may or may not have a viral pneumonia (I suspect she does) and we are pretty house-bound for spring break.

And it was poor Kelly's birthday yesterday. We weren't able to get him any presents aside from the lampshades for our bedroom that we got last weekend to replace the wedding gifts from nearly 13 years ago. We love them, but what a way to turn 37.
I made chocolate cupcakes, frosted them with mint frosting, and topped them with a chocolate flourish that looks, well, a bit biological. Let's just say that if the "cheeky monkeys" on the cupcake wrappers could have, they might have flung the chocolate at each other...

I promise that we love him WAY more than this.

Kelly, no matter how old you feel, you are and always will be the superhero that saves the day, the prince charming of our fairy tales, the one who laughs at everything and can fix anything. The girls adore you and so do I. Here's to the best year yet!

Dear Family,

What a great view from your window, cute little deer.
The cupcakes look delightful, and Kelly enjoyed them I am sure.

Love and miss you all very much.

I don't think I will ever complain about how long it takes for spring to arrive here in Colorado again (late April). But at least the view is pretty, if not wintry! Love the cupcakes, and their decor. ;)
