But sometimes, there are shining moments when I am really grateful for this stage of life. One of those occurred a few weeks ago on a Sunday morning when I was doing last-minute church stuff and suddenly realized that the house was a little too quiet. Upon investigation, I found all four in the tub playing sweetly and nicely. It deserved a picture:
Having curly hair, I never really braided it, so I never really learned how. My Cabbage Patch doll didn't have braid-able hair; she kind of had mullet pigtails, actually. I never had Barbies, and you really couldn't braid Strawberry Shortcake doll hair. So I missed out on the braiding thing as a kid.
And then I had four girls. At first, I tried keeping their hair short as an excuse not to learn to braid, but that was short-lived. Hair grows. So, with bribes and plenty of time in front of the TV, I have learned on my girls. And this week I was able to braid Lucy's hair.

I am so impressed! I can braid, but I can't French braid and my girls keep begging me to learn. Maybe someday. You are in inspiration, it looks great!
Oh how I love little girls and braids. Darling- darling-darling.

Well done with the braiding. I love reading your witty posts. I need to "stop by" more often.
Lucy looks so big with french braids! I need some lessons. The tub looks like fun. True smiles on every face. So cute.
Lucy's braids look great - I am proud of you! I never really learned to braid, either, and it is tricky to learn. Whenever I try to braid I keep thinking, "If my fingers can move to play the piano, why can't my fingers move well enough to braid hair?" It's one of the mysteries of life...
Seeing your four girls in the tub reminds me of another foursome in the tub many years ago - remember Eli making his entrance to your shocked girls?? :)
Lovely braids!
