Playing Catch-Up

You know it's time for summer to be over when you can literally say that your kids are climbing the walls...
Here is Anna's teacher, Mrs. Syverson, on the day before school started.  It was the hottest day of the year, the first day we were over 90 degrees, and of course it was in September.  Go figure.
This is Lizzie's teacher, Mrs. Campshure.  We were so excited to get her because she has been kind of watching out for Lizzie since kindergarten.  The girls' school is an old church that has been converted as well as possible, so that is why Lizzie's classroom has french doors and is in the basement.
On the first day of school, the weather took a dramatic turn and was cold.  The girls couldn't believe it... but it gave Anna a chance to wear her new school outfit (thank you, Grandma).  They were so excited to go to school... together for the first time ever!  I get to drive the carpool to school every day and the other family drives home.  It's working really well so far and I love greeting them at the door every day.

Sadly, reality has now hit, though.  Homework has started coming in, and it is a challenge to have both of them finish everything every day.  This week was the first time Young Women prevented me from being able to do homework with them (we had gymnastics right after school) and poor Kelly simply took them at their word when they said that they had finished it all.  Ha Ha, Dad...  There is always something for a parent to sign or something that needs gluing or double checking.  A parent's job is never finished during the school year.
