We loved the first one so much that our DVD actually wore out. Lizzie and Anna know all the songs and most of the dance steps, so when ads for High School Musical 2 started coming out in June, the girls started counting down the days. When we were in Salt Lake, we went to East High and took pictures. Two weeks before the premiere, our friend Abby invited us to a HSM2 party at her house. Nothing could be more exciting. Last week, a friend of mine who has two boys called to ask if there was something going on Friday night because she couldn't get a babysitter. Naturally, she knew nothing about High School Musical (lucky for her).
So here are the girls at the party. Abby's cute mom, Jenny, made a class list, decorated their yard, had pizza and a trivia game before the movie started, and ice cream bars during the show. The girls were in heaven. Jenny had also made a copy of the soundtrack for us a few days before the premiere, so Lizzie and Anna already knew the songs. Oh, it was so funny to watch them watching the show. I think it lived up to their expectations. I knew that, unlike the first one, this would have a little more romance and some older teenage themes, but I liked the music and the dancing was just as good, if not better, than the first.
As an FYI, Abby will be a kindergartener this year. That puts into perspective just how small our girls are...

So cute. I guess I will have to see HSM so that I can have a conversation with your girlies. I'll be way out of the loop if I don't.
I have to admit, that although I only have boys who aren't much into the musical thing, I secretly love this movie and watch it all by myself!
