Ewww! This year the girls got to pick their own pumpkins (except Daisy, of course) and then they had to hollow them out. I was so surprised at their enthusiasm for hollowing out the pumpkins. I still don't like doing it, and I always thought that grownups were supposed to not mind anything. Really, pulling all the meat off a chicken carcass, mixing up meat loaf with my hands, changing diapers, sure, but for some reason, pumpkin just isn't my thing. Thank goodness the girls love it.

And here are the finished products. Kelly is so good at carving and always finds the most magnificent templates (no, he didn't freehand these). Hooray for Daddy! Unfortunately, he didn't finish until after the girls were in bed, so only the adults got to see the finished product, but we can't wait to see their faces on Halloween night when they are lit for real.

I love the pumpkin with the little girl face - it's like a fourth child!
BTW, Daisy is SO cute!!! She definitely belongs in your family!
Yes! Those girls are awesome! This is the first year the older two boys would touch the guts themselves, and Josh would have none of it! You go girls!
