Kelly is in the real big apple, New York City, this week. This is nothing terribly new, but this time he has had more time to sightsee than on previous trips. Yesterday I was talking to him while he was at the Met, and in the middle of our conversation, he said, "Oh, here's a Van Gogh." Not often in the course of daily human events does one get to say those words. So yes, I'm pretty jealous. I have been remembering the last time we were in NYC with the Stewarts and what fun we had. Our families have grown up so much since this picture was taken! I think we'll have to do it again sometime...
Fo those of you who might be wondering, it's still quite cold here. In fact, we're expecting another 6 inches of snow tomorrow. This is the winter that absolutely will not go away. A woman I know actually shoveled the snow off her grass last weekend just so she could remember what her lawn looks like. So even though today is the first day of spring, you won't convince anyone here that spring is even around the corner. Especially since so many people still have their Christmas decorations up. Oh, yes, they do.
All I want to do is lie on hot cement. I have been cold for upwards of two weeks; I mean so cold that on Saturday I went to bed with a heating pad, two blankets, a bathrobe and a giant pillow on top of me and it still took a full hour to warm up. I think my core body temperature has actually dropped. My hands are just permanently cold. So hot cement, the kind that almost burns your skin, but not quite, sounds so divine. A few minutes of that and I'll be warm again, I think.

I wish I could tell you that I am pretty sure spring will come soon and so will that hot cement. However from all the snow you seem to have I worry that you'll have snow in your yard until at least August. We will have to pray that you will be able to regulate your body temperature soon. Good Luck!
I have an iMac too! It was my best Christmas present. It's really taken some getting used to, but I'm a convert.
You sound cold, girl. Bundle up in a robe & slippers, drink some hot chocolate and hang in there....Spring is here and Summer's not far behind. I'll be complaining in a few months when we can fry an egg on the cement and it's 115 in the shade!
Congratulations on your new computer! I was wishing for a new iMac until I blew that cash on fixing the car. (you know, the one I rammed in the driveway...) maybe in the summer. P.S. buy some tickets to Houston. We are waiting here to warm you up. The Aerobed is calling your name!
that comment is from Cami, not Steve. Oopsie Daisy.
I love this picture!! What a hot sweaty day that was. Just looking at that picture should help you feel warmer already! And you'll be glad to know that the stairway has since been repainted...
Too bad we barely missed Kelly in NYC - that would have been so fun to meet up with him.
Yeah, I'm still typing on the ol' laptop - I got the MBA leftovers. Remember how we used to get jealous of our husbands' laptops because they spent more time with them than us?
I love lying on hot cement. I thought I was the only one...
What a week that was! I'm so glad we were able to spend time with your family that week. A memorable experience I won't soon forget. We sure miss you!
