The girls recently completed a chart for reading 100 books. They decided that their prize would be a visit to Funset Boulevard. Kelly and I had never been, so we agreed. We went last Saturday and after an hour we were totally funned out.
Funset Boulevard, for the uninitiated, is the place you go when you are too big for Chuck E. Cheese's. They have all kinds of games, a carousel, bumper cars, a little train, and a giant indoor playground, a la McDonalds. And there were groups of adults there without any sign of children, waiting to ride the little bumper cars and using only one adjective, the one that begins with F. Luckily, the girls don't yet know that word, so I don't think that they heard it as much as I did. In fact, I think that they still think that Funset Boulevard is a good place to go.
This was Daisy's first ride on a merry-go-round. She absolutely loved it! It was actually worth the trip just to watch her riding the horse over and over.
Here is Anna in the giant playground. They have these all over here, mostly because we can only really use the outdoor parks 5 months out of the year. The rest of the time we have to go to the indoor ones.
Here's Lizzie on the bumper cars. She and Anna were old enough to ride them (okay, not old enough, but tall enough) and it was a blast to watch them steer and bump around.
Overall, we're glad we went...once...and now we know. We're already working on another chart, but we're thinking of different rewards, maybe a movie or the children' museum. Someplace where people know a few more vocabulary words.
