Well, Kelly was quoted in an article the other day...on NASCAR.com. The link does not connect with the exact article, but who doesn't want to visit the NASCAR website, right? Anyway, it's a big deal to give an interview and be quoted in an actual article. But of all the sports in existence, NASCAR probably has the lowest number of fans who are 1) online (it's hard to get a connection from your RV in the Walmart parking lot), 2) in possession of a computer, and 3) articulate enough to read an entire article about something happening at a race in Dallas. So while it is a big deal, I'm afraid that it won't generate much publicity or conversation at the track. Maybe next time, Cottonelle should try to break into tennis or golf, sports which tend to attract more tech-savvy fans. Actually, Kelly is quick to point out that NASCAR fans definitely do not all fit the stereotype. There are some very lovely people who enjoy watching noisy, smelly cars burn more fuel in three hours than any of us can afford in a month. Clearly he is not convincing me. When they start a race for hybrid vehicles, then maybe I'll feign more interest.
