The Farm

My friend Marci termed yesterday as the "true Wisconsin experience."  And she's right.  We packed up the fam and drove northeast to Door County for the day.  We began our adventure at The Farm, an interactive working farm where nothing is off limits.  For a quarter, we bought bottles of milk to feed to baby goats, pigs, and sheep.  The animals wander around just waiting for a kid with a bottle.
Daisy could hardly believe her good fortune when this little goat came right up to her.
We are pretty allergic to kitties in our family, so the chance to pick up kittens and hold them is a real treat.  All the girls loved the kittens, and I'm so glad because we'll never have one at our house.
I couldn't help posting this picture.  Even though it looks cute, this cow had more in common with Jabba the Hut than Clarabelle.  The kids also got a bag of corn and, in a most bovine way, this creature would open its mouth and allow kids to toss handfuls of corn right in.  Clearly it was not Lizzie's style.

Daisy got to hold a little chick... free range, of course.  I think she's saying "peep, peep" because that's what the chick was saying.  She loved feeling so grown up and once she realized that she didn't have to hold it too tight, she enjoyed it even more (and so did the chick).
