Christmas Card grief

We are not often spontaneous, but when we are, we feel pretty good about ourselves.  We bought all the fixins for ice cream sundaes last weekend and surprised the girls with them.  Just when we felt so spur-of-the-moment, Anna showed us up by topping her sundae with bacon ("But I like bacon") and when you're showing how spontaneous you can be, you don't say no to bacon on ice cream.  No matter how revolting it looks.  She ate it, but hasn't asked for bacon or ice cream since.

I wanted to make a Christmas card/birth announcement with a family picture on it.  But Kelly has been out of town every week since Lucy was a week old.  His only week here was over Thanksgiving and he spent it painting.  So I got an email about a Shutterfly sale this week but I had to put the card together by Wednesday night.  Kelly was in Chicago, so I gathered the girls, put them in their Christmas-y PJ's, cleaned them up, and started snapping.

Here's what I came up with...
Everyone has red eyes and I couldn't fix them (I don't know Photoshop well enough to do it)
Just in case, I took one of them asleep.  I thought this might be a nice alternative to trying to get everyone to smile at the same time.

Look at Lizzie's mouth.  We had Oreos for dessert, the mint kind dipped in chocolate.  I had scrubbed Daisy's mouth and checked Anna's, but didn't think my seven year-old needed it.  Why I didn't notice the chocolate rim around her mouth while I was staging or photographing I will never know.  Aaaaaaargh!

In the end, we still don't have a Christmas card.  But we will.  Kelly is home now and has promised no more trips "this year."  Hoora- hey, wait a second!
