Bein' Green

After the winter we've had, I decided that we needed a little green in our lives. So St. Patrick's Day was celebrated here. A little leprechaun helped me by leaving pieces of gold (really Rolos) for the girls, and I made a seriously green meal. It's hard to tell by the picture, but even the bread is green, albeit a sickish, somewhat moldy-looking one. The girls and Kelly were good sports and did their best to choke down all that green, but too much pepper in the pasta left us all a little "green around the gills." At the end of the day we were all glad that there isn't a day when I have to pull out the blue food coloring; green is okay, but blue is just unnatural.

And lest we elicit any more pity, the weather has turned for the better this week. It's above freezing finally, and the girls are wearing jackets and only thin gloves in the mornings. Daisy loves to point out the "muddy puddles" (or snirt, for dirty snow) wherever we go, and I'm starting to look for crocuses, even though it has only been two warm days. Woo-hoo, we survived the worst of another Wisconsin winter!

Kind of reminds me of trying to choke down mom's green eggs and green pancakes...If you don't remember it's because she only did it once.
