Souvenirs and other memories

What would Disney be without their stellar marketing team that makes everyone think that mouse ears are a worthwhile investment? We think we hit upon the best of the best this time. For Christmas, the Stephenson cousins gave each other Disney trading pins, similar to the pins everyone traded at the Olympics. The girls faithfully wore their lanyards every day to the park and any employee who had pins had to trade them (is it in their contract?) All three girls had the best time trading pins again and again. We learned that some pins are worth more than others, but no one cared about price (who ever cares about price when you're at Disneyland? Six dollars for a corn dog? Okay!) Lizzie ended up with two half-marathon "I'm a finisher" pins, and Daisy got a bowling pin with Maleficent's face on it. It was a grand success. Thanks, Stacey, for the great idea!
Sure, I can make fun of the corn dogs, but don't ever mock the carmel apples. Take a look at these beauties. I have been dreaming of them since my first one three years ago. I wouldn't let the girls carry them, or even touch them until we had preserved the memory on film. You don't eat these right off the stick. No no, save those teeth for the turkey legs. Something this delicious is begging to be cut and cored, then delicately eaten. Actually, by the time we were finished, we had carmel down to our chins, coated in cinnamon and pink sprinkles, but were we ever happy! Next time you visit the magic kingdom, you simply must try the apple pie carmel apple. The (obscenely priced) Minnie apple was good, but it lacked personality.

Grandma loves to buy each girl a souvenir from Disneyland. So here are Anna and Daisy with their new bags. Daisy's is silver sparkles and it is really something. She marched around the park like a peacock with that thing on her back. And below is Lucy's Mickey rattle. Mostly, she tries to get his whole head in her mouth. She's almost got it! Lizzie found a CD (CD's don't make great pictures) of the princess songs remixed (think "A Dream -bop bop bop- is a wish -bop bop- your heart makes [guitar riff]"). She loves it! Grandma always succeeds in finding great stuff for the girls. Thanks, Grandma Judy!
