Lizzie's Big Day

Even though this day was all about Lizzie, it was also a huge day for our family. We are so proud of her and of the example she is setting for her sisters.
After the baptism, we had a cupcake-fest. We had four different kinds of cupcakes, and boxed mixes were forbidden (because I am a food snob). It was lovely.
Mom and Dad arrived from Chicago just in time for the baptism. In fact, they drove straight to the church instead of stopping at home. Imagine the girls' delight when, as we got there, Grammy and Gramps surprised them.
Never in our four years here have we had all three grandparents visiting at the same time. We have never seen Lizzie, Anna, and Daisy so happy. It was the best! Even Lucy kept looking from one to another with a huge smile on her face.

She's smiling in this picture because she has already figured out that when a camera is on you, you should look at it and smile. But on such a happy day, it was hard for any of us not to smile.

Oh how we wish we could have been there! I'm glad that they make itty-bitty baptism outfits...I don't think I've ever seen such a petite (and beautiful) 8-year-old!! Everyone is looking darling, of course. You do such a great job with those girls, Amy!

Love you, Miss you!
