The Wedding
The main reason we spent Christmas in Salt Lake was to be there for Grace and Jonny's wedding. Lizzie and Anna have been calling him "Uncle Jonny" for months now and it was great to make it official. The day was truly magical. Here we all are outside the temple when they first came out as a married couple:
It's hard to tell, but Grace's dress was one of my all-time favorites. She had Penelope make it, the same girl who made Kath's and mine, and she pulled out all the stops. It was perfect for Grace! Here are all the Warner girls:
Daisy was very content to stay with Grandma for much of the reception dinner. We were at Rice-Eccles stadium and Kelly and I loved the view. Living in a flat place has made us appreciate the mountains much more. Thanks, Grandma, for keeping Daisy occupied and happy for so long!
Once the dancing started, my entire family just cut loose. The girls turned into dancing queens and we literally had to pull Daisy off the dance floor when the night was over. Here is Anna dancing with Gramps. The band played a lot of his favorite Elvis songs and other songs from "his day" as he calls it.
This is my favorite picture because of Grace and Jonny in the background:
The colors Grace wanted to use were purple, green, black, and copper. Mom made 12 batches of peppermint bark (actually, Dad made it. Mom calls him the chocolateur) and decorated boxes for each guest. You can see one in the above picture. It was a lot of work and I don't know how she did it all.
